Tour the room
Tour the room your child would join and meet the teachers who run it. You can see where children play, eat, and rest. Ask about the Creative Curriculum for Infant/Toddlers approach and what a typical day looks like. Our teachers understand that children differ in temperament, interest, learning styles, and life experiences. Some are learning English as a second language and some have special needs.

Enroll and settle in
Complete enrollment and plan a first week that suits your child's routine. Children come with different temperaments, interests, learning styles, and life experiences, and some are learning English as a second language. Your understanding of these differences helps every child feel comfortable and ready to learn.
What to have ready
Most families bring enrollment forms, a health form with an immunization record, emergency contacts, and the names of people allowed to pick up their child. We go through each page with you so nothing is missed. Ask us for the current forms and what your child's age group needs.
Pack a change of clothes that can get messy, outdoor gear for the season, and nap items if your child rests here. Label everything with your child's name. A comfort object from home helps. Children differ in temperament, interest, learning styles, and life experiences. Your understanding of these differences helps every child feel comfortable and ready to learn.
Before the first day, agree on who drops off and who picks up, and put those names on your list. Tell us how you want to hear about your child's day. Then the first morning is simple: you know the door, the room, and the teacher.
The first weeks
The first days are often shorter. Your child meets the teacher, finds their cubby, and gets used to the room. A familiar object from home can help. Children settle at different speeds, and that is expected.
At pickup, teachers tell you how the day went: what your child played, ate, and rested. Ask questions any time. Some children settle in a few days; others take longer, and we work with each family.

A day is built around arrival, play and learning, meals and rest, outdoor time, and pickup. Mi Casita uses the Creative Curriculum approach, which promotes cognitive, language, social/emotional, and physical development. Children learn socialization skills and learn through play.
How will I know how my child is doing?
Parents usually hear about the day at pickup and when they ask. Mi Casita used the source wording about welcoming every parent with open hands to our little house, and teachers share how the day went at pickup.
Do you offer part-time or flexible schedules?
Schedules depend on your child's age group and what openings we have. Call or email us and ask what is available for your child.
What if there is no place right now?
If your child's age group is full, ask us to contact you when a place opens. We will call you when there is room.
What should I ask on the tour?
Ask about hours, meals, and who can pick up your child. Ask how the first weeks are handled and what a typical day looks like. Ask anything else you need to feel sure about where your child spends the day.
